Homebakery
Description
In this project, I developed Homebakery, a fully custom WordPress theme integrated with the WooCommerce system. The theme was built entirely from scratch without the use of visual page builders or blog editor plugins. This project demonstrates my advanced capabilities in WordPress development, including custom theme architecture and back-end implementation using PHP.

Developing Process:
Throughout the development process, I incorporated project management tools such as Asana and GitHub to maintain an organized workflow. These tools allowed me to plan tasks, track progress, and manage version control effectively, reflecting industry-standard practices.
The core features of this project include a fully custom WordPress theme and WooCommerce integration. I began by designing the interface and layout in Adobe XD. From there, I used the starter theme provided by Underscores to build my custom theme, elegantbakery. This process required an in-depth understanding of WordPress architecture, including template hierarchy, as well as the use of WooCommerce functions, hooks, and customization techniques.
I also developed the typography and visual hierarchy to ensure consistency, readability, and alignment with the overall brand identity.
Interface Colour Scheme Development:
The elegantbakery theme is designed using a neutral colour palette, including shades of brown, pastel brown, and light grey, complemented by a warm golden orange accent. The combination of a white background with pastel tones creates a clean and bright interface while maintaining a sense of warmth.
Darker brown tones are primarily applied to text and typographic elements, providing strong contrast against lighter backgrounds and improving readability. For typography, I selected “Cormorant,” a serif typeface, as the primary font to convey elegance, and paired it with “Lobster Two,” a cursive typeface, to introduce a refined and expressive visual accent that aligns with the brand’s aesthetic.
